Ladybugs aren’t as cute in real life as their cartoon counterparts would imply… but that never stopped anyone from liking them!

This adorable not-so-little bug is worn on one finger, but sprawls across adjacent fingers. Hand-forged from copper sheets, the spots were achieved by a combination of dapping and liver of sulphur patina, which was then carefully sanded off on the body. The result is a black-and-bright-copper cocktail ring that is as cute as a bug!

Back in the day… I was feeling a little nostalgic when I designed this necklace. A constructed box of soldered copper sheets, these little phone pendant has two bronze “bells” and a bunch of little copper accents, including mouthpiece and crank-handle. The best part is the clasp: the necklace is closed by hanging the earpiece on its hook!

My first attempt at metalsmithing! Cut by hand from 20-gauge copper and bronze sheets, the various pieces were then hand-forged, soldered and/or riveted together, and colored using various patinas.

Finished piece measures approximately 5.5″ x 3″ x .75″, and features a hand-made pinback for wear as a brooch.

Found the pendant while shopping at Walmart… fell in love with it instantly, and snatched up the matching bronze chain while I was there.

Features two different blends of Miyuki Delicas from eebeads (“sand” and “Caribbean”), natural conch shells, glass pearls, turquoise-colored jasper, leopard jasper, and antiqued brass-finish pewter floral beads.

Took about six hours to make, so probably not one I’ll ever sell… unless someone REALLY wants one at over $100 a set…
